W211 E500 CPS sensor replaced and car still shuts down

Would anyone have some guidance to offer with this issue. Replaced CPS sensor 2x and car shut down again as soon as it got warm. Restarts fine once cooled off as all do with these symptoms. Starting to think it is worse? It all started after I did an oils and filter change and noticed my exhaust was a bit loose on one die of the straight duals. Not thinking I welded a small piece between the two pipes to stabilize it. Did not take the precaution of disconnecting the battery but worried this may have caused the issue. Batteries and charging system seem to work fine and fuel pump is also working with pressures within tolerance. Any help would be appreciated

What brand of CPS did you use?
When my CPS failed I bought a cheap one at Advanced Auto.
Within a few days, my car was stalling on hard acceleration.
I then replaced the crappy CPS with a bosch, and never gave it another thought again...

Thanks for the reply! It wasn’t a Bosch one it is an aftermarket one. First one failed, took it back and second one failed again both as soon as the engine got warm. Does not seem to be the connector either but I am hoping it is as easy as just replacing the CPS with the Bosch one. I ordered one online and will get it tomorrow. Still hoping someone else has some other experiences or advice.

Any idea what else will cause the CPS fault code if it is not actually a bad sensor? Fuel pump is good but I never checked the voltage coming from the alternator or the auxiliary battery? I have had Land Rovers in the past and were very sensitive to voltage.
