Heated steering wheel inop, if not the fuse........?

No heat on steering wheel, fuse #40 looks fine (is that the correct one?) on fuse panel on side of dash. Is there different fuses I should be checking? If not a fuse problem am i stuck going to dealer and/or indy to diagnose?

thanks.

It may be a defective device in loop diagnosed with SDS but as Plutoe said https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post5796845 , interior temp must be < 30 degrees for heater to function.

Yes........Plutoe asked is interior temp less than 30C ( 86f) if not it doesn't kick in. That left me puzzled since less than 30c describes most everyday in my garage and heat on wheel never kicks in. Possibly do You mean less than 30F ? That wouldn't seem to make sense either though. I'm guessing a trip to dealer to get fault diagnosed is called for. Thanks for input. Just want to get it working before Chicago winter kicks in.

Lot of good info in the .pdf Thanks. Looks like Trip to dealer still in order to diagnose problem. We'll see what they say, may just have to rough it and live without it if too much $$ to fix.

Good to know that the training documents are consistent. Somehow I didn't realize that 30C is approximately 86F which is what the training document says.

<30c means it does not work above 87 degrees.
