Trunk lights fuse or relay ?
Hey guys,
I'm trying to find a parasitic drain and need to disable the rear trunk lights, trunk lid courtesy light. I've removed the 30A trunk closer light and the Nav fuse (since it comes on with no key in the ignition) but can't disable the rear trunk lights and am seeing a 6A draw with the ignition off. I've pulled every fuse in the rear SAM module and the trunk lights still come on, was about to start on the relays, any advice is appreciated.

If I disconnect the rear sam from the positive, the terminal drain drops to zero.
* With the rear SAM re-connected,
* the nav fuse removed
* The trunk Lights off
I'm drain is about 180 milliamps, is that normal ?

Somewhat confused, however if you open the trunk the light comes on---thats good, however with the trunk open what happens to the lamp when you push the switch(close the switch)-----???????

Sorry, what i was saying is the trunk lights go off after about 15 minutes if you leave the trunk open. I tested once that happened and see about 180 milliamps draw and wondered if that was normal or high
How do I locate the trunk switch ? I thought it was where the locking system
is, but that doesn't affect things.

I ended up figuring this out. I replaced the main and aux batteries, and found a after market relay was always on and was using the rear camera to drain the battery, it did it within about 10 hours, I've replaced the relay and no problems in about 2 weeks.
