Take the trim piece out, move the carpet, I believe it's 2 or 3 nuts to remove. Pull it out. If I remember in a few days when I pull the lights to tint them, I will do a DIY.

^ That plus separate the electrical connector. Have you considered tinting them with film instead, like how I have mine? That way when you run into trouble with the POPO you can just remove the film instead of having to install a new set of tail lights.

I did got the film but i want to leave the white back up light clear and if i use the film i'll have to cut it by hand and i don't think i'll do that great of a job with the rasor blade LOL

I had someone install mine without taking out tail lights. Just get a sharp blade and lightly cut out the clear section.

Leave the two knobs and NAV alone. You have to first remove the plastic cover along the trunk, there are a couple clip fasteners holding it in, you can pop those out with a flathead or something. You will probably have to disconnect the interior trunk lights attached to the plastic cover too. You just have to pull the carpet out enough to reach the tail lights. There will be 5 nuts that hold the tail light in place which will take i think an 8mm socket to remove.

I am tinting the older style lights. If I go back to regular...they will be updated LED versions.

I install Tint, Vinyl and car wraps...so I could tint it, but I wanted to go sprayed clear for ease.
