2003 E320 squeaky noise over bumps!

2003 E320 squeaky noise over bumps!
When i go over bumps or potholes at speed more than 20mph i get high pitch short squeaky noise. What could it be? im pretty sure it's not the springs..

Dry or worn ball joints can make noise like that. Also, failed strut mounts (on top) can make noise.

Inspected the car.. Needs new ball joints both side $310 total cost. Seems alright?

Yup! about right!


2 types replace arm and bolt in w/3 bolts, Make sure you know what you have.

There is a early model E with top ball joint mate into the Control arm. The upgrade arm has the ball joint installed with 3 bolts and the arm doesn't have to be removed.

I believe vettdvr is talking about the upper ball joints. I did not see where you said either top or bottom ones. The bottom ones just press in. The squeaky ones on my car were the bottom ones.

meineke )) I don't what they put but they ordered it and waited for the ball joints for 1 day.
