Customized your name on floor mats ey? That's pretty unique man. How much work/$$ did that take? I think you should move your plates slightly towards the center more so your LED's look more symmetrical.

I say it's time for some illuminated door sills now..

AMG, thanks mate! I appreciate it!

Lemon, yeah, just wanna be a bit different with a lil personal touch. you askin' about the cost of the mats or the whole conversion? thats the farthest the plate holder would go, i still have to edge it a so i can move it. will do that next mate.

I meant how much work/time/money to get your name stitched onto the floor mat. I went through the same conversion myself so I pretty much have the numbers down for cost. It's probably like ~20-30% more expensive since your in AUS probably. But then again, +1 on WOOW!

thanks a lot for the compliment mate! the floor mats i just ordered from a maker here in Brisbane i think. if you want their website just let me know, they probably deliver worldwide. the whole set just cost me AU$150 landed, its cheap so I ended up ordering for both mine and the wifes CLK. black and red combo for her.

Yeah I wouldn't mind checking out that website. Any pics of the black/red combo? Did you ever change the mufflers or was it just a delete+tips? Curious to see how it sounds on a v6.

Heres the website, http://www.matcraft.com.au/
not sure if they can ship to US, just ask. Ill take a photo of my CLKs mat when the mrs gets home.

We couldnt find a reasonably priced muffler so we ended up with this. We couldnt do a simple muffler delete since i already have the xpipe and the guy said it would sound like a trail bike without the muffler. Now this gave her a bit of a tone and a bit of a drone but i can live with it.

Sean's Sister--
i like the look minus a few things that would bug me....the front needs to be dropped more because the rear is lower and looks weird...also the drl led's look added on. They don't flow like the wald ones.

yeah mate, and i dont have a V8 like you so we went with this set up. its subtle but it has a tone so I like it. and the most important thing for me is the tip is not a dummy anymore.

Lemon, pardon the dirty mat. I just took a quick photo of it. the red is actually more vibrant than it is on the photo.

if youre looking at the wheel wells, then the rear would look lower than the front, of course, they are designed that way. but if you look at the running board/side skirt, its actually parallel to the ground. i wanted to go lower at the front before but now that I have the chin, i dont think i can. besides, the front lowers almost half an inch more when im in the car so yeah.

with the DRLs, im quite happy with this for now, until I have the extra $500 to spend for the WALD kit.

Thanks for the new photos for me to drool over. Mind taking an underbelly shot of the exhaust to muffler tip welded? Also are these your stock mufflers still? Just wondering in case I finally pan handle enough to do an e55/e63 rear end "*look". Next up facelift headlight retrofit? I got that full write up lol.

hahaha! serves you right for posting those amazing mods you do! especially the folding wing mirrors!
that side photo was especially for you mate! (im still not happy with the front height but... )

im also looking into an E63 headlight but I cant do what you do so id probably just get the whole set and have it installed.

the second photo was on my post was still the stock mufflers. we replaced it with that lil AMG silver muffler (1st photo). we would have kept the original muffler but as you can see, the tip wont align with the bumper cut outs. so we found this lil AMG muffler in the rubbish and decided to install it. worked out well actually. ill try to take photos from underneath for you as soon as I can.

Yeah those wheels look like Forgestar F14s from the side then any other view it's got so much more character and depth. Aw shucks there's a rear bumper kit on eBay that comes with 2 dual tips, where the inlet pipe is dead center between the two exit pipes. Not sure how that'll offset with the e55/e63 dual cut outs when welding onto the stock 350 mufflers. Yeah but any underbelly shot you can provide will give me an eyeball test to go off of. Thanks in advance! P.s. don't wear a white shirt near the exhaust.

Thanks mate! If youre gonna do a muffler delete, that center pipe with 2 outlet tips will be fine. The muffler guy should be able to modify it to sit dead center on the bumper cutouts. But luckily for me, i bought the other design where the pipe connects from the side instead of the center coz i was advised not to do a muffler delete since im just running a V6.

I see, I would have to check the legality of a muffler delete in my area... Cops in my small city look for anything to cash in on. They even set speed traps 20 miles outside of their jurisdiction. Their reasoning is that a majority of the commuters coming through are from their city. What rubbish! But I digress, I will need to look into this a bit more before I commit. Unless of course I come along a painted e55/e63 bumper for cheap!

Here you go mate. I think youll be ok with leaving your muffler since you have the original cut outs on your bumper is that right? But i suggest you get the tips (same style as what i currently have) that connects on the side and not from the center.

Awesome thanks for these photos. Yes, I agree the side mounted tips would be best in my case as well not the center one based on what I'm seeing. My current rear bumper doesn't have the cutouts like the newer ones do. But an e55/e63 rear bumper will have it so I'll be good. So much I'd like to do, but the funds need a good replenishing. lol

Oh i see, if you dont have the original cut outs then you might need a different muffler or even a delete. The original muffler sits too high against the E55/63 cut outs. We cant find a way to keep the original mufflers.

Ah I see your rear picture with the stock exhaust showing behind the new bumper and now know the issue. I guess I'll have to get an e55 muffler then, since delete wont be an option. Thanks for the insight. Finally I know for sure.

Was meaning to ask how the fitment of those aftermarket side skirts were. Like are there any significant gaps or missing tab slots for installation?

Its not perfect if you ask me. I see a minor gap towards the end but it doesnt really bother me as much.

Same here, non issue. Just worried if it would take extra modification just to mount, but sounds like they had holes where they should've?
