NEW LOOK
good day! after much thinking, not to mention saving, im finally doin' the E63 conversion on my '03 E320. I already ordered the complete kit, its just a matter of sourcing out the internal parts and necessary brackets to make it fit. Im also changing my wheels to Vertini magic, still in 20's but silver in color.
my question for now is with regards to my existing muffler. I only have the V6 model, would the E55 or E63 muffler work on my car or should I just use my stock muffler and get quad AMG tips? thanks for any advice.
hopefully itll turn out well. pics to follow.

its not goin' to be a fake AMG mate. its not like im putting an E63 badge on it after im done. a lot of people has done the conversion here, its just that my existing tips wont match the new rear bumper so I want to know how to go about it.
I think even if you put a speaker on it you cant make it sound like a V8. maybe you could try
any input from MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE members is appreciated...

Despicable Merc - A LOT of people do the E63 conversion here on the forums, it's very common and none badge them as AMGs, he's just upgrading the look of his car not claiming it's something that it's not.
As for the actual question, I would consider keeping your existing rear bumper and getting a rear diffuser that would allow you to go with quad exhaust tips. They make real carbon fiber ones for $795 from Euroteck, and there are also replica carbon fiber diffusers you can get online for $200 or so here in the states.

AMG, mate, i already ordered the kit as a whole. It even comes with the grille but we wouldnt like it coz it has the big logo in the middle, (heck its free so ill take it!) ill probably paint it all black and see how it looks but ill definitely order the conventional grille.
As for the rear bar, mine is a bit different given thats its an Avantgarde model, my main concern is that if i get an E55 muffler, would it have any bad effect on the my engine since its just a V6? Or should i just keep the stock mufflers and just put in the appropriate quad tips. A lot cheaper if i go that route.

Oh sorry man I didn't quite understand what you were asking, good to know you're going all out with the kit. It will not have any bad effect on your engine at all, it may sound a little different but it definitely won't be much louder. I would probably just keep the stock mufflers and get appropriate quad tips. E63 mufflers are rare/expensive here in the US I'm sure the problem would be magnified down in AU so it's probably not worth the cost for no benefit.

I hear you mate! Stock mufflers with quad tips it is. Thanks!
Now if only somebody could tell me the part numbers of the brackets and supports i need for front and back bumpers and the hood latch as well then we'll be all set!

Yay for another non-amg e63 conversion! High five. She's going to look even more gorgeous.
I'm sure Gary@Suvneer would know a thing or two about part numbers needed for conversion if you looked around or asked him. If you're getting the complete kit, doesn't it already come with a rear diffuser as well? Btw the e55 mufflers are I believe one of the quietest muffler AMG makes so I'm not quite sure how they would sound on a v6.

Thanks Lemon! Im really excited about it. We tried fitting the new wheels just now and it looked good! But ill wait till the facelift is done so not for another week or so. It doesnt come with a diffuser but im gonna get one as well as the front lip both in CF. Found suppliers on ebay for that.
With regards to the E55 mufflers, AMG is right, it may not be worth it. So we'll stick with the stock mufflers with quad tips.
I already sent a PM to Gary with regards to part numbers but unfortunately he hasnt replied yet. Ill try to see if i can find it on the thread. But if somebody here knows thatll be even better!

Have you tried searching the forum with Google (such as "W211 e63 conversion mbworld")? Works much better than the forum search, I think there's plenty of info out there on it. I'm really excited for you mate! It's going to look incredible and a lot more modern too!

Hahaha! Im really excited especially when we tried the Vertinis earlier! Its an old style Vertini but i like how it looks on my car. Offsets are better with the new wheels as well! So yeah, fingers crossed everything works out well and the sooner the better!
Ill try the google search and see what i can dig.

Ok heres what i found so far. I hope thats all i need to get the front bumper installed. But i cant find anything for the rear.
Also, i attached photos of the kit, the front bar is for an E63 but the rear bar looks like an E55. Can anyone confirm if the font lips and the rear diffuser will fit on those bumpers? The front CF lip says its for an E63 and the rear CF diffuser says its for an E55. Thanks guys!
Heres the FREE front grille that came with the kit. I dont really like it so Ill have it painted all black and see but will order the conventional grille as well.
And heres the list i found for the front bumper. Please tell me if this is all i need and what do i need for the rear bumper?

As for internal parts...there is a thread you can find....
Basically there are 3 plastic molded structure parts for inside the bumper cover, a few peices of styrofoam, and two very important plastic mounts for the sides. I have part numbers somewhere I will try to find. It cost me about $300 to correctly install the kit.

So are you getting these from Gary or off eBay? Gary would provide exceptional service even if there was any defect. Especially for those CF lips since they aren't always 100% perfect, if you can prove it, you'd probably get another part for free. Can't say the same for some eBay sellers who'll speak to you in broken English.
As for the rear bumper parts, can't you just reuse the existing plastic supports? For the front for sure you'll need those 3 new plastic supports, latch, and grill. Also not quote sure on the diffuser part

if thats the case for the rear bar then hopefully you're right so we wouldnt have to buy brackets and what not. but can you verify if the rear bumper from the kit I ordered is for an E55? this project may take longer than I hoped coz I wanna wait for all the parts to come in, ill order the front lip and the diffuser today if I can.
@svre46: thanks mate! Im really looking forward to this. I always love how the E63 looks and at the moment, prices here down under for a decent one would range from 70k-90k. for now, ill settle with the E63 look with the E320 maintenance.

I'm sorry I can't confirm the compatibility of the CF diffuser. I've just been sticking with the stock style diffuser that came with my kit so I haven't really done any research on CF ones. But yeah I hope everything comes in a timely manner and fits well. I can't wait to see some pics!
@svre46 You probably won't be looking at getting much back from old parts tbh. I kept my old rear bumper thinking I'd make a couple bucks off it but it's been sitting in the garage for over a year now accumulating dust.

I think Gary can probably supply them.. but then again there's that problem with time and shipping.. Btw does your car have PDC? I never knew E320's had parking sensors. Another heads up, those dumb front license plate brackets here in the states costs us $180 a pop for the E63 bumpers.. you're probably better off with a tow hook mount or a good double sided tape or no front plates at all ( which is by far the sexiest one ).

Sadly, unlike there, its the law here that plates should be displayed front and back. Its more than double that price here so we're thinking of putting it on the lower center grille with zip tie probably. Yes i do have the parking sensors, maybe it depends on where it was released? Im not sure.

Yeah it's required over here too.. I just can't stand it and took it off.. So far so good. You could probably do with zip tip on center grill mesh but the mesh piece isn't all that strong and at least in America, the plates are slightly too wide to fit nicely on the grill.
The sensors were probably just rare in the American market as eeeverything was an option added to base price..

We'll see how it goes but ill try my best not to put it on the front, IMO, it ruins the look of the car. Im more interested now with the LED drls on your thread! Hahaha thanks for the tip mate!

Let me know how that front lip lines up with the E63 bumper. I have the same lip from the same vendor that I'm trying to get rid of. As far as your exhaust is concerned, I'd go E55/C63/CLS55 mufflers with resonator/cat delete. The muffler/tip by itself won't give you any noticeable sound increase but resonator/cat delete will bring it out a bit more. I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me; it's not obnoxiously loud, and to the untrained person it probably sounds stock.
I hope you end up hating that grill even when its blacked out just save yourself the time and pick up a stock grill now
