Transmission Oil

Hi All
I just replaced the conductor Plate on my W211 (E320 auto). Sadly I did not measure the amount of oil that was removed before dumping it. The torque converter was not drained because there is no drain nut. The sump was removed and cleaned. Will appreciate any information on the quantity of oil required to refill. Using MB ATF 134 (MA001 989 07 03) oil.

I tried guessing and made a mess-up by filling in 9 lts. Started the car, went through the gears, then noticed a huge amount of oil under the car spilling from the gearbox, somewhere.

Appreciate it & Thanks

If I were you I would start all over drain the nine and then add back 4 then let car get to operating temp(80C) and use the measuring tool to see what amount you need to add.

Thanks, will do that. Problem is I cannot locate the special tool (dip stick) at any MB agent in South Africa.

THE C350
If you search on here you can find the measurements of the dip stick and could make your own if needed. If you can't find it PM me and I will try to measure mine tomorrow.

Hi All, thanks for all the assistance. Now I have the new conductor plate on and the correct amount of oil in the transmission. Further problems, the transmission thumps into reverse and then drive, no manual shift and the W/S button does not select. Will appreciate further advice. Thanks

Yeh, I was spending a lot of money guessing. Had the transmission overhauled and problems were solved. Apart from seals which very blown, the gear packs and torque converter was stuffed. Her in South Africa it cost me R12000-00. At that time it would have been approximately 1200 dollars, if in the USA
