So I was looking around for solutions to my SBC noise on my '03 E320 and I found this DTB/TSP from the UK forum ( http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/wheel...-solution.html )not sure if this is valid for North America but I'm planning on going to the dealership soon for another issue and figured I'd give it a try.

Dealer charged me $140 to install the updated suction hose when I had them replace my faulty sbc accumulator/pressure reservoir. Our cars are out of warranty so they will probably not do it for free. My experience is that the new hose with dampeners does not make much of a difference in the noise level during sbc pressurization anyway, so probably not worth it if you have to pay out of pocket for the updated hose. Keep us updated on whether or not you got the new hose installed, cost of repair if any and reduction of sbc noise. Good luck!
