Three Ton Floor Jack

Sears currently has Craftsman 3 ton floor Jack, jack stands and creeper set for $99. I am thinking of buying this set, but is jack good enough for a W211 weight? How about the stands? Has anyone tried this set, or quality is a second tier type of a deal?

Don't know about this set, but I have a 3 ton Harborfreight low profile jack. It is just low and long enough the reach the jack point. It lifts the car just fine.

A 3 ton jack is plenty. The weight equivalent of three metric tons is approximately 6613 lbs. I use a 1 or 2 ton jack most of the time and never had a problem so 3 tons should be more than enough.

Where does one place a jack stand under the W211 without causing damage to car's underside, to do oil changes for example? Would rectangle slot for factory jack work, not sure if same size, guess will have to try when I receive them. Most jack stands have a V shaped top.

You can use a floor jack with the factory jack points, it won't damage anything.
