Garage Door Opener
Tonight I got to my garage and as I tried pushing my garage door opener, just below mirror, the little light did not flash and the door would not open. I pushed it a few times, but nothing. I decided to call my dad to open garage door for me, but his line was busy, so while waiting for him to get off the phone, I tried to push the garage door once again, and this time it worked.
Now, is this a sign of future problems. Will this thing fail? I'm thinking of programming the adjacent buttons in case something like this happened again, this way I am not left out in the cold!!

I remember a thread some time back (which I cannot find) about someone having a similar issue and the problem ultimately being the button itself, not any programming. Over the years of pushing and pushing, that piece of hardware gave way.
Programming your other button is a good idea.

Now the three buttons are not working properly, one minute they work fine, the next minute they're dead, which means you can not program any of them. Looks like will have to use my Lift Master transmitter.

Sorry, it's not a Lift Master, it's a Chamberlain, and it's a "rolling code."
The thing is it worked just fine for years until last night!!

I followed that link, but it was a futile endeavor, I guess you need a degree in mechanical engineering like the author, to be able to do what he did.
I thought about buying a used mirror on Fleabay and just swap out the parts. Has anybody tried that?

Do you use all the buttons? I had one fail on me and it was only the button I used, I programmed another button and it worked just fine.

My problem is buttons work intermittently. And for programming you need to use the left and right buttons to erase old codes. I'd love to get a used one and transplant parts into mine, but not sure what needs to be moved.
