Rattle coming from center channel speaker?

Any ideas how to fix? Does this mean speaker is blown? On songs with a lot of bass you can hear a rattle or slight distortion coming from the center channel grille. If you put pressure on the grille with you hand it doesn't go away.

I get this occasionally. Took it apart and the speaker was fine.

It turned out that sometimes in Logic 7 mode, the crossover wasn't working. The system was sending low frequencies to the center speaker.

Simply turning the power off on the Comand unit and restarting fixed the issue or switch to "speech" and then back to "Logic 7". I forgot which one worked.

Hope yours is the same

Interesting. Will have to change it back from logic back to logic and see if that fixes.

He means under the "sound" option on the command screen, to switch OFF the surround sound, then switch it back ON.

The center dash speaker is prone to cone separation failure which sounds like buzzing. This will not improve over time and is dependent on volume and program content. There are several forum entries that have DIY instructions and advice. Use the search function.

if that doesn't work, then you need to replace the center channel.

Thanks. Well the audio mode was set to "standard". I changed it to "logic 7" and it seems much better and I don't think it can be heard now. I'm assuming most if you leave it on logic 7?

Also, the ambient lighting was tuned fully off on the ceiling. Didn't even know it was there. What do most of you set the brightness level at? It's on 3 now and I matched the rear to about the same brightness.
