ESP and ASB defective

Hi,

Last night i was out driving my car (2003 w211 E320). Suddenly the ESP and ABS warning sign showed upp that the functions were defective. I drove home and thought that i would wait till tomorrow and see if the problem hade gone away (Off course it wouldn't).

I went out for a drive today on the highway. I drove for 15 min without problems and then the signs went on.
I recently changed the small battery because the display said that something was wrong with the battery. First i thought it was the big one.

Is this a problem that i can solve by my self or do i have to bring it to workshop? And do you guys know whats wrong?

/O

It is always better to get a code, but you can try replacing the brake pedal switch. This will trigger the BAS and ABS sometimes when defective.

It is a $15 part.

What code do you mean?

When you get an ABS or BAS or CEL light, it means something is wrong. A Star Diagnostic System is needed ot get codes for these. The corresponding codes tell the technician what to fix.

Hello members. Anyone in the South Jersey area with a MB Xentry (DAS) scanner that could help me? I would grately appreciate it.
