Exclamation Headlamp wires

So, I decided to change out my headlamps and while doing so I discovered frayed wires on both (driver and passenger side) headlamps. Not sure the actual name for them but its not the High/Low beams its the ones next to that. So anyways, is it hard to replace those wires? For a temporary fix I threw some electrical tape on the exposed areas that I could see, but I'm sure the heat will start melting the tape.

Are you talking about the tiny lights below the High beam? I believe they are called parking lights. That said the connector you have a picture of is one of the H7 bulbs isn't it?

Honestly if you used good quality electrical tape i doubt it will melt but if it was me I would take the lights out and cut the bad part out of the wire and resolder

Yes, known issue! I changed light bulb on my low beam and those wires had breakage. I used regular electric tape but its best to buy a new wire harness and replace it. My electrical tape was rated at 80C(176F). You may also try high temperature insulating tapes. If you do it right and tight it will last for a long time. Mine still works!

that's a common issue, same goes for the 7er BMWs. I guess the wire coating is poor quality, and can't handle the heat and aging. Bad design if you ask me.
