I can not seem to find any previous posts regarding an 05 e320 cdi
and a transformer type sound coming from the instrument cluster or possibly in this general area.
I sit in the car with everything powered down key out and the sound is evident without straining myself to hear.

The past week I have had low battery msgs which is likely due to junk interior leds pulling the main battery down , but not 100 % certain .
The battery is charging 12.5 v at startup then 14.3 on long stretches.

Not sure if cooling fans are integral with the cluster or an electronic component is failing within the cluster or even if cluster's are repairable

Instead sitting in drivers seat with all asleep is it possible to hear the clock.
Thoughts?
