Low battery message
Hi, I keep getting a message every time I start the car telling me I have a low battery and that some of the systems are not functional.
It is a 2006 E350 sedan. Any ideas.
BTW, the batteries are new. Both the main one (trunk) and the back up one (engine compartment passenger side).
Thank you.

It seems the repair garage who replaced the batteries did not reset the codes.
You may want to get an OBD2 code reader to check the voltage of the batteries. if the voltage is fine, try to read fault codes and reset them. drive a bit then read codes again. if no codes appear then you should be good to go.
However, if the message still appears on your dash after clearing codes. Then you may need to visit a proper repair garage with a star diagnose tool.
Good luck and update us if you fixed it.

Hi, Thank you for the follow up. I do not have an OBD2 code reader so I will be buying one. Once I am done I will let you know. Thank you for your help. This may be the problem since I changed the batteries myself.

Have you checked the main battery voltage? Just because it is new does not mean it is good. I'm certain the problem is the battery is low on charge. This is a common warning.

Hoi, I did and the voltage is good for both batteries. I borrow an OBD2 and was able to reset the error code. It seems that the code was there from before and just needed to be reset.
Thank you for your help.
Regards.
