How to fix HEADLIGHT?!
Hey guys, i have a w211 e500 and my passenger headlight is out and i also get a "visit workshop" sign when i turn on the car. i bought a brand new headlight igniter and light bulb but they did not work. i think something is wrong with the wires. if anybody has the same problem and solved it, Please let me know ASAP! Thanks

Out Of Control!!
Once again you wasted your money before you had the car quick tested to determine the fault and a course of action to find and fix the fault---at this point folks normally go buy things that they know are faulty---an analogy is how many light bulbs have you replaced before they become faulty!!

The insulation on the wiring to my drivers side headlight had rotted away, causing a short / bulbs to blow.
I had to remove the bumper in order to remove the headlight assembly and loom up the wires.

When working with HID lights if one goes out start by swapping the igniters (left and right) as well as take a look at wiring for visible signs or damage.
If all that fails then swap ballasts (Mounted on bottom of light)
Then swap bulbs (very rare to die completely usually just color shift (so when the car gets older you should just replace them))
Once all that is done then buy the necessary parts.
Since you have a 2003 if the bulbs are original replace both with genuine Philips (most are fakes) I buy mine from Amazon (not a third party only Amazon.
Remember that hid bulbs run on higher voltage than normal bulbs and it hurts a ton when you shock yourself (done it one to many times lol) Never have key in ignition or lights switched to on when working with the headlights!!
So in summary you need to start at the beginning as well as the visit workshop might not be the headlight and require different diagnostics.
