W211 side mirror fold when shifting into reverse
My 2009 E200 is having an intermittent problem of the passenger side mirror fold instead of tilting when the gear is shift to "R".
When this happen pushing to button to fold or unfold side mirror only the driver side mirror is working.
Any idea what could be the cause?
By the way the car is locally assemble in Malaysia, among the last batch for W211.

Under normal operation it dip down.
But now intermittently on occasions it will fold and will not response to the button to unfold it.
I have to manually unfold it.
Only for the passenger side mirror. The driver's side is working as normal.

If I understand you mirror will not fold in on passenger side - check wiring & motor. See attachments, remaining instructions can be found here https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post6396989

Under normal operation the passenger side mirror should dip when gear is shift to "R" provided the selector button for passenger side mirror is already selected for adjustment switch.
Instead of dip, sometime the passenger side mirror fold in when gear is shift to "R".
When this happen pushing the fold/unfold button will only move the driver's side mirror - passenger side remain at fold in position.
the wires seem to be intact (not bristle) when i look thru the small cover of the door panel (130 on the other link) .
will read up on the documents to take out the mirror and check the wiring
Thanks konigstiger

Wiring issue. Common problem with folding mirrors. Guarantee you there's a current and stored open circuit fault in your door control module......
