As if the brakes are coming on and off
Hi, I'm driving a 2004 E220 mercedes. The problem I'm looking for help with is: When I'm traveling on motorways cruising at any speed the car feels like the brakes are coming on and off… the rev counter flickers up and down slightly (very uncomfortable). once i accelerate or depress the problem disappears. The car has been serviced recently, EGR valve was changed, new tyres, scanned for codes but nothing, i was thinking mass air flow but no codes so I'm not sure. Any advice would be great.

Does your car have SBC brakes? One of the features of that braking system was to gently activate the brakes when at highway speed to keep the rotors and pads free of water. This is activated when the wipers are turned on or left on the auto position. Perhaps this is what is happening in your car?

gearbox problem
Car is now sorted, the problem was with the pwn tcc solenoid in the gearbox. New solenoid €70 New oil filter and gasket..... drives like a new car. If anyone need more information I'd be glad to help.
