Turn signals will not self cancel
Hello,
Car: 2005 M-B E320 CDI
Problem: Turn signals won't self cancel
I had reason to pull my steering wheel and the various plug-in components (wiper controls, power column adjust, turn signal switch, cruise, etc.) and when I got everything buttoned back up, my turn signals will not self cancel any more.
They blink fine, the lane change feature works properly, howcver, the self-canceling feature that normally clicks off the blinker after making a turn no longer works. It did prior to disassembly. Neither on LH or RH turns.
Does anyone know what I need to do?
Thanks!

Yes, it is intact. There were no cuts, tears, etc.
I cannot be certain the number of "rolls" it had or now has.
Ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks from Eddie

Thank you for that chart and printed information. I will address the problem using that information.
I am most appreciative and will update later on.

Here is a video about how to rotate it...

But shouldn't it trigger your ESP fault is installed wrong?
I remember reading that there are some spring loaded 'positioners' in multifunction switch too, which may have failed?
