E500 Radio Question Can I Add Ipod? Do I Have Command?
I know that there are many threads on this but I could not find any that answered my direct question. I have a 03 W211 E500 without navigation. I just changed the audio gateway because it was remaining on and draining my battery.
I am really suffering without an Ipod connection and would like to know if anybody can recommend a way to do it that is not to expensive. I can pickup the OEM kit on Ebay for $90 but am not sure that it will work without me having navigation? I am also not sure if I have command or what it does? Thanks!

Anybody? I am not sure if I have command and want to buy a factory Ipod connection that I will have to run from the trunk. I do not want to get everything hooked up and find out it does not work lol. Thanks

You may be able to if you have a cd changer. Check with your local Mercedes dealer to see if the Mercedes Ipod kit is compatible with the VIN of your car. I put the kit in my 2005 e500 following the instructions in a thread in this forum. Not difficult but time consuming.

I called the dealer, gave them my vin and they gave me 2 different answers lol. They said that the vin pulls up nothing pertaining to an ipod but the accessory guide showed that they do make a kit? He ended up giving me the part number to the cord connection? Anyway, I do not believe I have comand but it looks like the exact radio that has command? I do not have an aux connection. I just replaced the audio gateway and I did see a cd changer connection back there. Is there any reason that the kit will not work? I do not have navi nor a rear cd changer. I do have the in dash 6 disc under the radio. Thanks

I do not think that the kit I purchased will work in your car. Like I stated, the best way to know is to check compatibility using the VIN of your car. Call the seller on ebay (its a dealer and ask them)
