Exposed Wires

Looking at pic below, you see a worn out protective sleeve of these 2 wires going to or coming out of alternator. Is there any risk in having those wires without protection. What kind of protection could I provide to limit exposure?

That wouldn't be the tube that got broken off during valve cover gasket job?
If you can't find the spiral covering (universal stuff from PepBoys should work) at least wrap it with electrical tape.
Looks like is couple of spots that wire rubs against metal.

No, what broke during last mechanic visit was spark plug. This wire has been exposed for sometime.

I like the idea of getting some protection for those wires, I'll check at an auto parts store. Got to be heat resistant. Thanks.
