Yes you can. Plugs should be the same. To get the navigation to work is a bit more of a job. Good thing is that you have the Audio 20 Cassette as the Audio 20 Cd has a built in AGW tuner that the APS 50 does not have, therefore it would not be compatible.

So if I buy the APS 50 I can freely connect it and at least listen to radio? I don't need the navigation, really...

"NTG1 COMAND APS will work without the navigation processor (clearly you will have no navigation functions), and changing the Audio-20-Cassette for a COMAND APS head unit its a 20 minute upgrade, looks very nice, and gives you a CD/DVD player. Changing to an Audio-50-APS is also equally straight forward"

The DVD function works if you insert it directly into the unit, the navigation module in the trunk is just that, you won't have the navigation function but everything else will work.
