Looking to buy a 2006 E320 cdi advise?
Hey, I currently have a 1984 300sd and I am looking to purchase a 2006 E320 cdi to replace it. The car I am looking at has about 215,000 miles but seems to be in great shape.
What sorts of things should I check on this thing before I buy it?
Any advise on preventative maintenance if I do purchase it?
Thanks for your thoughts!

Not sure how close you are to Orlando but this just came up on Craigslist: http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/5650235333.html
I agree that Black death is definitely a major issue with these CDIs so try to get a peak under the plastic bonnet if possible. If not, smell of burned diesel in engine compartment will provide a clue as to whether or not there is an injector leak. SBC brakes work nice when they work but are expensive to repair when pump fails & is factory set to fail after a certain # of actuations (300,000 iirc). A SDS system even if it's a chinese clone is probably best tool you'll ever buy if you decide to get one of these cars since they are computer dependent & dealership will charge $160 just to do a single scan via SDS. A $300 SDS via alibabba will pay for itself in 2x of use. It took an SBC pump failure for me to learn that lesson. I can't estimate how much $$ I've saved so far just by having that SDS system available to me at all times but I couldn't feel confident in taking car on long drives for fear of experiencing 'limp-mode' again until I got that. JMHO
