Out Of Control!!
The correct source would be to use EPC and compare your rack part number with the rack number you propose buying----don't purchase anything until you can confirm else you will be back whining about how your ignorance got you scammed on the internet!!

MB likes to update parts and I have seen it several times when part number comes with
"replaced by XXXX"
than "replaced by XXXY"
than "replaced by XXXZ"
and often 6 times.
Meaning all 6 parts numbers will fit older car, but you want new stock, not something several years old.
Where are you buying new rack from?
All reputable sellers will give you guarantee the part working with your VIN.

I of course don' know the reason for your question, but I can tell you that Maval makes a good, affordable remanufactured rack, often available on Partsgeek.com, and that CVJ Axles in Denver is a good source of Mercedes racks that have been very-well-rebuilt by them. (If they don't have it, Brinson in Connecticut usually stocks their remanufactured racks and will ship immediately.) The best way to communicate with CVJ and Brinson is by phone. Very nice, knowledgeable people on the other end.
