I talked to a Kleeman dealer about these on the 5.0/5.5 and they claim about 30 with a tune. I know this topic has been beat to death across the internet but, there are always new generations. Oh, unless you live in Cali haha

Just few years ago CA made smog on diesels and grandfathered it back to 1998 models.
That made all those diesel trucks owners, who deleted EGR, deleted mufflers and did other stuff running for cover.
So even your state has no smog check today, who knows what will happen in a year or 2.

AFIK the blocks are identical between the 5.0L and 5.5L so the headers will fit both. Keep in mind these are usually $1200 ! This is a great deal!

Just put these on my E55. All I can say is wow! Night and day difference. Hard to explain but car feels like it was freed up. You don't realize how small those stock headers are until you see them out first hand.

I am always skeptic about those WOW's as human are very prone to placebo effect (I always wow my car acceleration after vacuuming the carpets),
So any solid confirmation they make difference?
I know dyno is hard to get and not that reliable on small differences, but how about comparing 0-60 times?
That shouldn't take longer than 5 seconds
I cut my Bluetec time by 1.5 seconds by replacing air filters.

I hear ya
I've spoken with Kleeman on the phone about these and they're very confident with 30hp (w/tune) increases all day on the 5.5 The stock exhaust manifold is a joke.
There will most definitely be a noticeable difference I'm sure but unless an AWD dyno shows up in my town I doubt I'll ever get it dynod so, I'm fine with claimed increases. The OE Tune is supposed to be good for 30hp and I definitely enjoy that!

Pardon my math, but if headers with tune make 30HP and tune alone makes 30 HP, isn't it making headers gain 0 ?

haha good question. Your Math just ****ed my **** up. I'm guessing that IF I actually got 30hp from OE Tuning then I added a better designed header, with an ECU programmed for it, then my gains should be over 30hp. I'm not so naive that I think I'll have a total of 60hp gained. Pardon my engineering?

I am too lazy to do such jobs, but heard a lot on RV forum that adding headers to big American engines really opens them up. '
But those are vehicles that operate at full, or close to full throttle >80% of the time, when on E55 such moment exist only for couple of seconds at average days.
Sure owners with lot of time on their hands can go for it, but spending thousands to gain 3 feet over other car on freeway ramp, only to stomp on brakes once merging lane ends - make not much of logic sense.

Alright CDM motorsports. I've seen you in other threads boasting your product with zero documentation to support. Now you're in this thread vaguely answering very fundamental questions. Personally, I think it's time you put up, or shut up.

What would you like me to put up? If you arent interested in our stuff that is fine. I have 1 thread about our headers.
look at our pictures in our profile and see some of the cars we have done.
