W211 Strange Headlight Issue
Hello I am very new here and have a 2004 W211 Base Wagon I just acquired. The headlights were not working, and of course I decided to just change the bulbs (halogen). Nothing.
When I looked inside of the headlights, I could see the wires inside of the actual headlight (right and left headlights) were rubbed bare, exposing the copper on both sides.
I ordered new aftermarket headlights, new bulbs, and still.. nothing.
My next thought was that there must have been a fuse or relay blown but I have come to find out that these do not exist if I am not mistaken? Is this true? If so, what could have possibly blown from bare wire in the headlights shorting?
Thanks in advance. If I posted this in the wrong place, I apologize and it is because the "new thread" button only existed in this section.

Have you done any testing with a volt meter to see if the new lights are wired correctly as well as to see if you can detect any signs of life at the car side.
*remember that the car cuts power once it figures out the bulb is out. If you turn the lights on with the key out of the ignition this may help you with testing.
