My AC blows warm air. Help PLEASE

My wife's car is a 2007 E350 Sedan. Since we live in San Diego, we rarely use the AC, until last couple days the weather turns hot. I turn on the AC and find out it blows only warm air. What could be wrong. Do you think I need to put more Freon to the car. Or maybe an AC switch is bad, or relay is bad?
Help Please.

Don't you purchase the can, have some one with a set of AC gages interrogate the system, locate any leaks and then correctly fill the system---the one thing you don't need is an overfilled system--then you will be right back saying I followed the advice and I still have warm air---do it once correctly!!

Cars went long way in last 25 years when set of gauges could do most of AC troubleshooting.
Those cars have 8 or more sensors that are giving data to computer to run the cooling program. If you have a gauge already, you can try your luck with checking the REFRIGERANT pressure , but for the rest you need readable climatronic or SD.
Do you have REST button?
You must live close to the Ocean? I spend some time in Escondido and it was darn hot. Had to use AC even in January.
