H7 Led Bulb Install Help
Can anyone help me with advise on how to install H7 led bulbs in a 2005 E320. I took out the factory bulb but there is a metal clip that holds the factory bulb in place. But that metal clip will not work on the led bulb because of the size of the bulb fan. Any advise? Thanks everyone

I installed Leds to my headlights on my w211 however I switched my projectors to D2s from the H7. I couldn't find a way to get a h7 led inside the clip and connect it into place. The new bulbs are brighter then the factory halogen. Wish I could get a set of the Morimoto LED led headlights to compare to my mine.

OR, if you have one of those two piece bulbs with the threaded collar, you can install the collar first with the retaining clip. Then thread the bulb into the collar. Do this before you connect the wiring so you don't twist it up.

HID is not equivalent to LED. Some models of LED lamps have a fan built on to the tail (where the plug normally is) to keep the LED element cool. Some have a copper wick. I believe ALL of them need some external heat sink, passive like the wick or active like the fan, to handle the heat load.

Hopefully the OP will come back and tell us his solution. I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm curious. I've got H7's on my Ducati and it'd be nice to have a (much) brighter light in there than the OEM halogen. Same deal though: There's no way an LED wick much less a fan would fit inside the housing.
