E500 Brake Pad & Rotor Question

Hey guys,

I've been searching for this but can't seem to find a definitive answer. I have an 06 e500 w/ AMG sport package and the car is in need of some new shoes. I'm trying to figure out the proper size for the rotors and pads. Does the AMG sport package use the same rotors as the regular sport package? Also, are the rear brake rotors different from the base package and/or sport package?

Thanks in advance!

First of all your VIN does not have AMG anything--you have SA code 951 which is sport package USA----when you look at the brake components the rotors used with 951 are also used with the AMG(952), but that is it---the calipers are either sport(951) or non sport;the pads are either sport(951) or non sport------I didn't bother with the rear as it is the same story, it's not an AMG car!!

Front: (SA 951)

The rotors are 230 421 08 12;the calipers are L=003 420 57 83 and the R=003 420 58 83;the pads are 006 420 32 20

Hmm, the car seems to have all the options of the AMG package. I guess its possible that the previous owner just updated it a bit. The car's great and is loaded. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the calipers with the "Mercedes" etching in them were only available in the AMG package. Forgive me, my car is filthy at the moment. Its been raining a lot here lately.

Front
- disc 2114210912
- pads 0064203220
- right sensor 2115401717
- left caliper 0024202183, right 0024202283

Rear
- disc check vehicle: solid 2114230712, or ventilated 2114230912
- pads 0074201020
- right sensor 2115401717
- left caliper/solid disc 0024202583, right 0024202683
- left caliper/ventilated 0024202783, 0024202883

As mentioned your vehicle is equipped with Sport package (see attached data card, 951): dual exhaust pipes, staggered AMG branded wheels, sport suspension, white gauge instrument cluster, sport front apron/rear bumper/sculpted side skirts, and leather interior with black Birdseye maple wood trim. AMG trunk badge was added by previous owner. If you google caliper 0024202183 and view images available you will see Mercedes etch is not unique to AMG.

Thanks for the clarification and the data card. I see the data card has 772 AMG Styling Package on it. That's probably what the guy was talking about when he said 'AMG Package'. Also, my gauge instrument cluster is black, not silver plus I have the burred walnut root trim.

Last question if you will. What's included in the 'Elegance' package. Just curious.

Seems to be early build equipped with 2005 AMG Sport Package rather than 2006 Sports Package “may” be the reason for black instrument cluster, and walnut wood trim. Elegance = luxury/comfort model (Avantgarde = sport).

And for car sake - don't use acid cleaners on those wheels.

So would the same brakes listed above apply if my car was equipped with an early AMG Sport Package?

As for the wheel cleaner, I only recently got the car so whatever was done happened before I took ownership. But rest assured, this baby will be pampered from now on.

Yes, check notes on MB part catalog captions posted above 494 (USA) + 951 (sports package) as confirmed by data card. AMG package = appearance enhancements.
