Making the fanfare horn active with ignition off
Should be as easy as putting fuse #53 (under the hood) in the "a" position.
"b" position causes the horn to only work when the ignition is turned to at least position 1.
I've tried the fuse in both positions and the horn will only work with the ignition on.
Any thoughts? Does the '05 E320 CDI not enjoy this option? Am I missing something with a relay?
PS: I've got the 12V outlets working the way I like (always on, position "b") so I know that moving the #54 fuse does what is expected.

Also, what's the 12v outlets working the way you like?
This is the fuse box on the drivers side right? Never even opened it..

Those crazy engineers at Mercedes like to spend time thinking up new ways to let you do things you didn't even consider needing. Take for example the ability to make your 12 volt outlets (cigarette lighter in the ashtrays) act one of two ways: always on or on only when the car is on. How does that happen, you ask? By moving a fuse (#54, IIRC) from a switched circuit to a non switched circuit in the fuse box under the hood (back driver's side corner). The same is supposed to be able to be done with the horn: it can either always be available to you with or without the key being on or it can only be activated with the car on. Again, by moving the position of a fuse (#53) from a switched circuit to a non-switched one. Thing is, moving the fuse has no effect on my horn: it is always only available when the car is on.

I think it is something else, the horn acts as a security warning when an accident happens, so the horn has to pass by a sam module after the fuse, so yes, for me it's programming parament.
