2006 E350 4matic front brake pad replace
Guys ... the thread title says it all. I'm begging for a nice how-to write up for this specific year and model. I've searched all W211 websites world-wide and cannot find a tutorial, write-up or how-to for my car. I have a feeling that since this was the LAST year for SBC plus the FIRST Year for M272 engine plus 4matic tranny ... that earlier W211 (2003-2005) brake write ups don't apply AND subsequent W211 (2007-2009 non SBC) write ups don't apply. I know this ... that the brake calipers and pads that are pictured in the numerous pics and video write ups simply do NOT match my STOCK 2006 E350 4matic SBC M272 equipped brake calipers and pads. I'd love to be able to punch out a couple of pins and slide in some new pads ... but that doesn't apply to mine. Any help? Any pics? boy oh boy a link to a video would be nice ... My pads are due .. all around. No warnings yet ... but they're due. Anyone? thanks in advance, everyone.

That's the million dollar question now, ain't it? I don't know why my STOCK 2006 E350 4matic SCB M272 equipped brake calipers and pads do NOT match ANY of the pics/tutorials out there for W211 'brake pad replacement' write-ups. Could be SBC. Could be SBC + 4matic. Could be SBC + 4matic + M272 (2006 was the ONLY year that combo was possible). Could be any combination of those elements. Again, don't know. Just asking for pics or a write up or video from ANYONE who's done basic brake job (pads, rotors) on this specific vehicle. Cuz at the end of the day ... as I stated ... this car's STOCK setup is unique. Don't know why. Doesn't really matter why. You know?

Thanks, konigstiger .... that pic (the 4matic one at bottom) is definitely my caliper. I guess the 2006 M272 equipped 4matic brakes were definitely unique to that year/model. The pic matches, but I still have no idea how to proceed with pad replacement. Not sure where the bolt is or what type/size it is ... to undue to allow the caliper to 'swing' down. Such a basic easy job, I realize that ... but I'm stumped.

Okay ... found some pics and a write up... on Pelican Parts no less. 7mm Allen head socket ... that's the key. Nice big clear pics as well. These pics are DEFINITELY my 2006 4matic brakes ... here you go:
