Transmission?

Not sure how to put in words. Best this way I guess. If your sitting in stop and go traffic for a few minutes give it some gas to go maybe 40 feet at a time it kinda lunges. Give a tiny push on the peddle its like you put your foot on the gas hard and let off in a second. No idea how to word it. Not sure if its a tune up problem or the trans needs service, adjusting? Anyone had this problem?

If you haven't serviced the trans on an '04 E320 regardless of miles that should be your starting point.

Something have noticed last couple days. I have babied this car from day one barely giving it gas in stop and go traffic, stop lights..etc.. Give it just a little more gas in every situation that problem goes away. Its a one owner so best guess is its used to the way they drove it. Have heard of that before kinda sounds true.

Do a transmission reset and see if the problem goes away.

http://www.mercedesmedic.com/reset-m...-instructions/

In step 6 it dictates that you wait 2 minutes. Do that. Don't do anything else. Don't open the door, don't fiddle with the windows, don't touch anything except yourself if you must.

I have the same issue, its like if it holds the gears on low accelerations, like it bumps on the next gear... but when you give it a little more gas it acts normal...

Yes its kinda odd. Have you been sitting in traffic, stop light..etc. and the rpm's go up and down sometimes the motor cuts off but starts right back up and runs fine? Mines does exact same thing yours does but will just cut off. Mine is starting to do it at least once a day. But it only cut off once so far. Find anything let me know, I do will let ya know. Thanks!!!!

Nope, it idles fine in stop lights etc.. My issue is just between gears (shifting) when accelerating very slowly, like it holds the gear instead of shifting at low rev, it shift at high rev, making the bump shifting. .. at normal drive it shifts like it have to.

Your case sounds like a MAF sensor (mass-air flow sensor) to me.. It sounds like your car is reading the air flow wrong thus going up and down accordingly.

Got it. Sounds like my problem is trans and fuel. Will check that sensor thanks much. Not sure if will help ya but did ya see the link rapidoxidation sent me? Might help not sure. Lots of good video links off of that link. Kinda sounds like your problem. Do a trans reset yourself. Worth a look
