2005 europe version E-class had folding sidemirrors
I had 2005 E-class in Asia with German Version. Sidemirrors were folding with button. My US version 2008 S-class automatically folds mirrors when I lock it which is best system I ever had. My wife 2010 E-class do not folds and no button for it which is sucks. It's sucks because 2007 X5 that she traded in had button for mirror folding. But the E-class is far better car then
x5 in our tastes so we are happy at least.
I will try to find German mirrors in korea when I go back in MAY, try to retrofit to my wife's 2010 e-class.
The only thing is the price. I remember it was couple thousands dollars for 2006 e-class to retrofit the side mirros. There are alot people buy US version E-class imported by small and not MB delaers due to the price. ( about 15 percent cheaper.) When they buy US version, they retrofit everything just like German version. The problem with 2006 was the whole mirror assembly had to be ordered and changed which was very expansive.

Believe that there is lots more to it than retrofitting another mirror. There is the mirror mount, the wiring, the switches and the software as I believe it is controlled by the computer. Then of course there is the interface so they will fold when the car is locked. If it is at all possible will cost thousands of dollars.

Rude for an M-B owner!
I used and liked the seat movement very much. As far as the mirrors go I use them all the time on my ML550 particularly when its in my garage as it makes it very easy to walk between the cars. If you feel that the maint/failure risk is that great you are driving the wrong car and should be driving a Ford Escourt bare bones or such. I in fact have never had an issue with any of these features in any car. Many still have these features.
Did not say there was a great, or any, risk of failure, was just giving my thoughts as to why M-B may have taken the features off. Apparently someone in Sindelfingen thought the features should be deleted for a good reason.
BTW, if you read this site and many others, you will find that maintenance costs and reliablity are two of the chief concerns for many M-B owners, especially as the cars age.
I use all the features of my cars continuously, especially the COMAND system on my W212, so I am not afraid of wearing something out.

Guys, let's chill out. I know we all are trying to provide some valuable and useful information in this site. I have learned a lot from MBworld and loved it since I joined.
Okay back to topic. If Power Folding mirrors option is that important to you, retro-fitting is your only choice in U.S. Contact Steve aka MBenzNL here for more info. I did this couple years back and it costed me 800-900 bucks (parts and install). Install was cheaper for me because I know a tech

MBENZNL has any OE AMG or mercedes Benz Part that you might want
I have added Power folding Mirrors to my 203/209/210/211
WITH the Euro Mirror anti blind glass
The 209/211 fold in when you lock the car

It's nice to think of these companies as money-no-object nobles who do everything for a reason that we might not have the proper level of insight into, but in reality, whenever a company decontents something, it's a simple as cost-cutting.

Does anyone have the solution to this problem - folding mirrors on my eclass c207 coupe fold however when opening the door only the passenger door one unfolds and the drivers side needs to be operated by push of button to unfold?

Ding ding ding! I saw it listed on the Premium Package of the MY'15s. Guess they decided to do it after the 15 C's came out with them. Sometimes I hope my constant feedback on fold in mirrors has finally made it through after a yr or two
