Cargo Management Options for the trunk?
I guess I never realized hauling groceries would be such a pain in my car, but then again, I rarely do it... hahahah
After picking up all the can goods and drinks that rolled around, I just thought I would ask what you guys do. All my other cars came with cargo nets, so I never even thought about this in the Mercedes. The 2 mini cargo nets on the sides of the trunk just don't work well enough for an average trip.
This thing looks cool:
But not $400 cool... LOL
I'll probably end up just getting a generic cargo net, but thought I would ask here if anybody had a better solution. Plus there is always the option of taking the other cars grocery shopping instead of the E.

Check with Steve (he's a member here) and see if the Mercedes Euro cargo system is available for the W212. It works great in the W211. Fully adjustable and the arms can be moved anywhere, and moved aside to keep the trunk clear, etc..
It's a Euro part # but send him an email. http://www.mbenznl.nl/index.php There are a few here with that same set up.

You might want to go to your MB dealer, in the E class accessory catalog there are numerous options from nets, to folding boxes, trays, etc.
PS you can probably find the catalog if you google it on the web.

BTW after you find what you want you can find real MB parts and accessories at genuinemercedesparts.com or parts.com for about a 30% discount. Both ship from a Mercedes dealer but genuinemercedesparts offer full MB warranty (1 year), parts doesn't (for those that use parts.com and believe they do, send them an email and ask, I only use them for accessories).

There is a double pull-down hook in the center top of the trunk that is for hanging bags. Look at picture in 220S' reply above. The white tag hanging down is the pull-down.
I also picked up a collapsible carrier at Target a coupld of years ago for $10. Works great. Cannot really secure it to hooks, but it does not slide around much if loaded anyway. They usually sell them at Christmas as stocking stuffers, but may still have some.

Yes, I'm amazed also why it is a problem to go to grocery store as all goods are put in plastic bags.
There is this plastic double hook right in the middle of the top edge of the trunk that folds up by spring. You pull it down by that strap that shows in the pictures with both cargo organizers.
The hook works very well and keeps backs neatly upright and in place. Cargo organizer is needed for items that don't go in bags, like 12 packs etc. but those can be just put in trunk or behind front seats.

velcro cargo stabilizer
I was reminded in a post by pacrimguru about this velcro cargo stabilizer part. I have one in the garage somewhere because the so called "velcro" never attaches to the carpet. I couldn't be bothered to make mods to a $20 part to make it work but I'm annoyed now that I think about it. MagicJack - can you or anyone else shed some light? Did pacrimguru and I both get a defective one?
