Aftermarket rear side door sun shades
Anyone know of any aftermarket rear door window sun shades for W212?

Just a suggestion...why not just tint them? Works great and not so clunky.

I know its an option but wife does not like very dark tint and not sure if a light one would help much. Also Chicago has some strict laws against tinting front windows so we would have to tint just the rear. Not sure how that would look. That's why the shades are what I'm looking for at least for now.

Here is a picture of the manual side blinds fitted as standard to E500's in Australia and supplied in combination with the electric rear blind.
Very neat and fold down level with the top of the door trim when not required.
The first photo shows the rear electric blind raised as well as the Left rear side blind and the second photo shows more detail of the rght rear side blind.

I had door sun shades in my W220 and W211, and hated them both as they looked ugly and pointless just sitting in those doors.... Never being used, since I always Tint my windows super dark.
I can see why they're a necessity to many though. It's an obvious cost-cutting for U.S models, which MBUSA does very much, very often.

Thank you for the pics, looks great.
Yes, I can see you tinted the whole sides of the car but thats not an option in Chicago as wife would get pulled over all the time and ticketed. People even get ticketed for factory tint if its 'too dark'. Also we have two kids back there quite often so shades are a nice thing to have.
Its a great option that should be standard like so many other luxury things that should be standard in a car of this class. Same goes for the the folding mirrors. My wifes car with the options she has was sticker price of $67000 yet that only included rear power shade. The BMW 5 series we were also looking at did have the side shades included.

This is an option I really wish we could get in the USA. I am not big on dark tints and not big on tacky shades for kids on back windows either so would be perfect.

Thank you. I am checking with Germany to see how much it would cost to buy them there from the dealer.

I bought some of these from MB Parts Online, and they didn't fit at ALL......
I hate MB Parts Online........just another reason.........
they could have mentioned when I asked them, if they'd fit........
to which the little girl said, "oh yes, they'll fit"......
then I return them and it takes literally a month to get a refund......
dragging their feet? I should say so! Guess they really 'stuck' it too me, LOL!!!!!
I was without that 76 dollars for a month!!! I was hurting!!!! LOL

Yes point taken I actually immigrated to the USA but am used to the cost of things. Always shocking when I am overseas and see the cost of a used A-class for example. Always wonder why I don't try export my used cars instead of trading them...

I ordered my car with sunshade too . One thing is different , normally rear sunshades come with 2 pieces , one for door glass the other for quarter window . That custom image is one piece .
I recently watched a cool youtube video about S65 AMG . The guy who made the footage press one button when he was at the rear seat and all the rear sunshades were activated , I was impressed , power sunshades very cool

Just spoke with my parts guys at US MB dealer -- they cannot get it these parts here yet (not even as special order). I am still waiting for a reply from Germany.
