The Scandisk 6 in 1 adapter seems to work with any type of card however, with the models that have the PCMCIA slot (as opposed to just a smaller smartcard slot), they only seem to take cards upto 2GB's. My 2012 GLK has the PCMCIA slot and it works great but my scancard is only 2GBs. I put a 8GB Patrait card in it and it wouldn't read the card--put the same card in my wife's new C-Class and it works great. Her new 2012 C-250 has just the small smartcard slot like my 09' E350 had. Popped it in her car and it read and played music perfectly. Apparently the older systems that used the PCMCIA slot (like my brand new 2012 GLK350-LOL) only took a maximum of 2 GB's. That is a lot of music though!

Did you disagree with the previous posts or did you completely ignore all of them? The point is that there are two types of Sandisk 6 in 1 adapters and it is easy to recognise the card that supports SD HC cards (bigger than 2 or 4 GB). Forum members get lost if you claim Sandisk PCMCIA adapters generally only support 2 GB memory cards.

Diesel Benz- the model I have is SanDisk 6-in-1 PC Card Adapter ( SDAD-67-A10 ). Is this not the one that reads SD HC cards?

There were good photos and a lot of related discussion on the W204 forum (when the W204 appeared with all this confusion).

I just looked and you are correct-my adapter only says "SD" and not the "HC" part-guess I've been had-still it plays the 2GB card fine. Thanks again.

A quick summary of the results of experiments I conducted with *my* Bluetec (complete with photos).
First,I loaded three different memory cards,a 32GB SD card,a 32GB CF (Compact Flash) card and a 32GB MicroSD card, with just over 5,000 MP3's which totaled about 30GB on each card.I then tested the SD card *and* the MicroSD card in the PCMCIA adapter I have. Both cards played perfectly with that adapter *EXCEPT* for the fact that with each of the cards the Comand system only recognized *exactly* 5,000 songs.I then tested the CF card with the other adapter I have.Same result...everything perfect *except* for the 5,000 song limit.I then loaded the MicroSD card into a gadget I have that allows me to attach it to the glove box USB cable ($55 at Mercedes dealers).Everything played perfectly *except* for the fact that Comand would only recognize exactly 1,000 songs.
So there it is.Of course different M-B models/model years, different adapters and different memory cards might give different results.
N.B.,the MicroSD card was too small to photograph properly with my cellphone camera but it's made by SanDisk.

My adapter is in the car currently but I think someone mentioned that both parts are sold with the same part number. Very confusing, the only way to identify which one is which would be to look at the the adapter itself. If the SD card is actually named there as "SD HC", then it supports big SD cards. The older adapter says only "SD".

Both Micro cards with adaptor and SDHD cards fit into the adaptor and the adaptor fits into the slot on dash board. It is clean and not really noticeable. Very clean looking.

Does anyone know of anyone who makes these now-a-days that are a real company. I would like to order one, but all that I can find are questionable Chinese imports. I don't want to fry the nav system in my car with a sub par piece of computer hardware.

you can get one from dealer but it'll be another "questionable chinese import" most likely only w/their logo on. however, i bet that little logo will make most people sleep better .

Ebay questionable chinese import works fine on my GLK...it does protrude out a bit (the SD card....not the adapter)...about 2mm...but not a big deal.

W204 2008 Sport-Palladium Silver/P1 Harmon/Nav
Hey guys, sorry if this is redundant, I'm new to Benz; but I have spent the past 2 days trying to make this work (after reading some of the forums). I bought a PPA Int'; PCMCIA to Compact Flash Adaptor ($40) along with a 16GB CF card (Silicon Power CF 600x $40) and a Dynex all in one card reader at Best Buy (Dynex DX-CR312 $40). Ok, so I am working on Mac and used a program called (Smart Converter Pro $10) from the App store. It works great in being able to convert multiple iTunes files into MP3 format. They were all listed in the directory and copied to the Root before I ejected the CF card from my Mac. However, I'm also getting the error when I go to try it on my COMAND system (I have Harmon and Nav) and it won't recognize the songs. It sees them, then says can't read files...Any ideas? Sorry for the long post. Thanks.

Post #56 pretty much summarizes *my* experience with the PCMIA slot. However,it must be noted that my experiences only involve "pure" MP3's...that is,MP3's that were converted directly from CDs using Windows XP/7.I have read...here and there...that the PCMIA system is quite quirky in what adapters and cards it will accept.I know nothing about converting iTune files so I suppose that could be a factor as well.

The next step for him might be to make a few MP3's directly from a commercial CD using Windows, load them onto the CF card he has and insert it into Comand. If,by chance, they play that suggests that the conversion of the iTune files is the problem. If not it would suggest that the CF card and/or the PCMIA adapter might be the problem. As I've said I've gotten the system to work perfectly....but no iTune files were involved.

Boy-What I would give to understand what you guys were talking about.
I have not gotten this far with my system but have been wondering how to use the USB in the compartment. Does that do away with needing the PCMIA ? adapter
As of now I use the aux to play MP3.

Although I'm not 100% certain I think 2012's Comand system was changed to eliminate the PCMCIA slot that's found on my 2011 (and,IIRC,earlier W212's as well).I'm almost certain that a small SD card slot is found on your Comand system. If I'm correct that means that you can load MP3's onto a basic SD card, insert it into the slot and play the songs through your audio system.

Thank you listerone. I was able to get the PCMCIA card to work finally and play by dragging and dropping the actual MP4 folders in my iTunes library on my Mac. These were not converted AAC files to MP3 before copying them to the card and it played most of them. I'm confident the ones that were unrecognized were "Protected" AAC files that could not be copied to the card. I finally just decided to burn some songs (Playlist) to a DVD (converted in iTunes to MP3) on a Windows 7 PC and load it in one of the CD slots until I can get an iPod adapter. Naturally, the DVD works great and recognizes the Artist, Song and format with all the text. The PCMCIA route is pretty quirky and I wonder if it is my PCMCIA card or the CF card that it is being finicky about. I'm shucking out for the iPod adapter unless there is something out there that can use COMAND with the iPod/iPhone 4S that is accessible and controlled via the COMAND knob. Thanks for your help on this. I don't care what it costs, I just want to be able to plug my iPod/iPhone 4S and play my music! I welcome any suggestions out there on ANY kits that work well or MB options that allow you to connect, charge, access your music and still put your iPhone under the armrest vs.the glove box. Thank you.

Listerone-You are indeed a super member. Your responses have helped me greatly. I believe you are saying that I can load music off a flash drive into the USB port. Will look into that.
It would greatly reduce my downloading into the HD drive that I am now doing.

Grateful if any one could help me, I have Mercedes-Benz C-Class car. I wanted to play mp3 music through the command APS. i bought Ex-Pro® PCMCIA Compact Flash Card Adaptor for Mercedes COMAND APS systems (S E C GLK Class) and i tried many ways (I used with scan disk SDHC card 4GB, Samsung sd adapter, and 1GB MLC SD pure media card with mp3 music in it) but the command system doesn’t recognise or some reason not working.
