E350 Iphone 4

Sorry for the noobie question. Just ordered my car online and waiting for shipment next week. quick question as I thought I read this somewhere. Does the e350 with P01 package have the ability to read text messages from your iphone?

not that I am aware of, unless I am doing something wrong.

Interesting question...never tried it because I don't use iphone 4 for texting.

Comand 4.5 which is standard in 2012 e's (and on some very late build 2011 e's) supports text messaging including reading them to you....on phones that support Message Access Protocol (MAP) over bluetooth. Unfortunately, the iphone does not support this and there are a growing number of users (with Ford and other cars that have similar systems) who are complaining about this, but so far, to no avail.

I am actually going to get an Android phone to see if it works better with the comand system.

Thanks. Let me know what you come up with. I have a BB and an Adroid phone that I can try when I get my car. I am hoping it will be shipped here by the end of the week.

I do have the late build 11 model, so I should have this support?

I will try it myself later tonight.
