I HATE My NTG4.5 w/SIRIUS WEATHER

My Sirius Weather worked for a week after taking it to the dealer...it stopped working 3 days ago. After speaking to people from Sirius for well over 5 hours, they said that my car was only activated for radio and traffic, not weather.
APPARENTLY, MY TRIAL WAS ONLY FOR RADIO AND TRAFFIC...I tried asking, "well, why was my weather working then?" They avoided the question multiple times...

Do those of you with NTG 4.5 have Sirius Weather up and working?

Please help me. If you have a vehicle with problems, you know how frustrating stuff like this can be. I'm about to start yelling....

Your car should have been enabled for Sirius radio, trafffic and weather by your dealer.

My guess is that your dealer never activated your radio at all!!!

Sirius just competed two weeks where they allowed anyone with a sirius radio to try it and then will be offering them discounted service, now that the open radio session is over. I don't know if sirius weather was included in that two weeks of open radio.

However, I don't understand why you are even bothering to post here because you should be going back to your dealer and telling them that you are not receving your Sirius trial...and have them figure it out.

I am in my trial period on 4.5 and I receive radio, traffic and weather.....

Satellite radio is not that bad. It does seem to have the "endless loop" of songs and comedy, but, news, sports, and other features are pretty good. I find the traffic to be dead on sometimes, and, way off at other times. That said, I do not listen to it as often as I do my iPod. I find the Weather Band radio provides me more useful information regarding local weather. If you drive through many rural areas, you can find yourself with only a handful of twangy country stations and religeous stations, satallite can be a godsend.

Thanks guys, but I am more worried about the actual Sirius Weather. The dealer said they don't have control over it anymore
Normally, I would just go to the globe icon next to System on the top of the COMAND screen and then I would click on the Sirius Weather Panel and get a visual representation of the day's forecast, plus maps with wind speeds, and the 5 day forecast. I'm not talking about the Weatherband, I'm talking about the actual Sirius Weather option in COMAND.

ghstudio, was your weather activated from the dealer when you bought the car or did you have to activate it yourself? Also, do you have an account with Sirius that your car is under? I do and so maybe that's the problem. It should be under the dealer's account, but for some reason, the dealer transferred the trial to my account and so they are saying my account is only for radio and traffic...SO MUCH CONFUSION!

Although I had an XM/Sirius account and subscription, I didn't givethat info to my dealer...I transfered that service to my wife's car until it expires (I did this about a week after getting the Mercedes). My Mercedes dealer must have set up a new account for me and the trial is under the new account...and yes, it has sirius weather.

The dealer should not have transfered your sirius radio subscription to your new car without your permission.....you might have wanted to transfer that to some other car (as I did). I don't know how they could do it without your authorization and authorization to Sirius to make the change.

Now that I have the trial, I would never pay for the service...I get exactly the same information on my iphone for free.

I have the same problem with mine, also new cars are not programmed by the dealers for Sirius, its pre-activated and when the car is reported sold to MB, MB then turns the info over to sirius so an account can be opened and about a month after the car is sold Sirius sends you the account # and some other materials.

Any news on when Comand Online will be enabled in the US? I really want the NTG 4.5 Comand Online features (via bluetooth/DUN on the phone) offered in Europe on the W212 before I take the plunge and upgrade my current 2003 W211.

I think it would be more effective to ask this question in the thread that's already started asking this very question:

Will comand 4.5 get internet Connectivity in the US

Well I don't have Sirius Weather on my 2012 C-Class. On top of that I didn't have Comand Online but I got that working but then there is another problem. It's just a browser without the apps.

I am not sure why I didn't get Sirius Weather but I would have had fun using it.
