I don't concur with your thoughts on the wheels lol
They are not as bad as you think . At least better looking than ugly 20" and up wheels

Snow was not a problem for the E today with the winter tires on. We got 6" here in Middlebury. It was a different story for my BMW and CLS 4Matic--both with high performance tires and too much torque.

I'm not a 100% fan of the new CLS, but it's looking damn good there!
You have any updated family pics of the fleet? Namely E and CLS sharing a frame?

Huh?
It would take a helluva a lot to make that E-class look anything near "ugly"!!
It's a great looking car, and with the snow tires, it will look great IN THE GARAGE at home while you're uncorking a nice bottle of wine, rather than mashed up in the ditch while you're calling the State Troopers on your cell phone.

I'll try to line them up tomorrow morning. But only the E, CLS, and 135i. The 600 is in storage at another house, but was out in the snow during the October storm (see below). And yes, black is the primary color in the fleet.

I took a couple of iPhone photos today. Shamefully, the cars are all dirty, covered in salt and road grime from recent use. It's too cold to wash them. Hopefully tomorrow when it warms up (and rains, ugh).
Oddly, the CLS looks smaller than the E and it's front spoiler is higher up than the E. I gotta figure out a cheap way of making the CLS frontend lower (or at least, appear lower) Thanks all for the compliments.

Amazing! Great fleet.
I gotta say, I've seen some polarizing remarks about the CLS's rear, but I personally LOVE its rear. It's the only angle of that car that I think I definitely like over the E's, although I love the E's very classic-Mercedes style rear on its own. The front of the E I like more than the CLS's, however. Interesting observing now that the E's front sits lower. This was the case with the W211 VS original CLS as well. The E surprisingly is a lot more aerodynamic than the CLS, and maybe some of that has to do with its proportions and how it is able to sit lower to the ground (from the bottom of its panels/body to the floor).

Yet another case of pictures not doing a car justice. When the new CLS press release pictures came out I thought Mercedes had taken a page out of BMW's book, mucking up a perfectly good looking car. First time I saw one in person OMG! What a beauty! Amazing that Mercedes was able to improve on the original.
I am wondering dbtk how you that CLS got into the garage! Or rather how you got out of the car.

I like the front end of the CLS more than the E, but only because of the protruding nose with the SLS-type grill and the full LED headlamps. The only flaw with the front end I could possibly think of is the distinct line on the hood closer to the grill where the hood opens. It's sad to think that the E comes with halogens standard while the CLS comes with bixenons standard, but wow! the front LED's are amazing! If the E came with full LED headlamps, I would reconsider my thoughts! I see a lot of CLS's up in the Beverly Glen area of L.A. and at night, they look spectacular! I love the flow of the rear of the CLS as well, a bit sharper than the E.

At first, I was not a big fan of the new CLS. I missed the refined styling of my 2007 CL. That car was classically proportioned, understated and elegantly reserved. I felt the CLS to be too showy and overdone. I now like it more. It is more youthful--and it's design shows it. It's like a teenager compared to the more dignified CL.
GermanCars--the CLS actually fits okay and it is not hard to get out of the driver's side at all. I sometimes park my 600 SWB in there (along with the CL, GL, S). It's a tight fit with the larger cars. However, I like the other house which has a much longer garage and space for three cars.

Thanks. (Sorry all for the misspells and typos...I tend to think faster than my clumsy fingers can type.) The 600 was recently written up in Hemings Classic news. Here are some links if interested re: Fairfield Concours d'Elegance in CT last fall.

LOL, no probs . We are not in the elementary school . This is a gorgeous ride and also reminded me a hilarious TG episode Rolls Royce vs Mercedes Benz .
