it's so sad to see maybach production is coming to an end......

i think it's a good car (no *****), but its styling is too much like a mercedes. for the same sticker price, much rather to go for a rolls, even tho the rolls these days are really just BMWs... who knows, maybe the 100k rebate can get some potential buyers who have trouble deciding between the two

Maybach's are sometimes even hideous and mutant-Mercedes looking, IMO. Not to mention, its interior, architecture, and construction/platform are based off of the W140 with an interior model straight out of the 90's.

The car is a ripoff to say the least, and was a lazy attempt by M-B. Glad to see it go, as they should put that effort into the Mercedes brand which has more prestige and cachet then the from-scratch "Maybach" brand anyway.

Maybach is gone after DAG losing about a billion dollars. DAG needs to recognize they cannot compete in every market and with every car out there. Rolls Royce, Bentley, etc. have had prestige reputations for many, many decades. You can't compete with that by building a more expensive MB.

I agree. If Mercedes really wanted to compete in this arena they should have bought Bentley or Rolls Royce before Audi and BMW snapped them up. Given that apparently MB lost a billion, I wonder how much it would have cost them if they just bought Rolls or Bentley.

I believe bringing back a forgotten marque was not a bad idea but the way MB did was totally wrong , it was like a stretched W220 with a fancy name and gadgets galore .

Look at the last model , you can still see W220 influence under its skin , interior , gear selector , steering wheel and this list can go forever

BMW also did a mistake when they bought RR and put their 7 Series engine in it , thank God that ugly car didn't last long lol
