Philips Diamond Vision

I want to replace my current halogen bulb with the Philips Diamond Vision to match the DRLs on my 2012 E350, I've found the bulb thanks to the different links on the forum but I have a concern before I buy the new bulb.

The bulb is supposed to be 5k which is white but why is the picture of the bulb blue?

I've looked at both ipmart.com and powerbulbs.com and both have a similar description that mentions the blue color of the bulb: "Philips Diamond Vision H7 bulbs produces a distinctive blue look in the headlight due to their colour temperature of 5000K"

So is this blue or white?

Normal halogen bulbs are around 3,500k. Daylight is somewhere between 4,300k and 5,000k, depending on which expert you believe. So, Phillips uses a blue filter to raise the halogen's color temperature to the upper end of the daylight range.

Thanks Wayne, I went ahead and order the headlight bulbs, we'll see how they look when installed.

But I just have one more question:

Is the OEM headlight bulb 35w or 55w? the replacement headlight bulb I got is 55w...I hope it doesn't get hot enough to damage the housing...

No idea. Check your manual. Educated guess: 55w like every halogen bulb I have replaced in other vehicles since 1999.
