File format for 5.1 Surround Sound on SD card?
Does anyone know what file format (i.e. AC3, AAC, FLAC, etc...) for 5.1 surround sound that we can put on the SD card so the Mercedes will play?
I tried lossless 5.1 surround .WAV and .FLAC files and they did not work. The car didn't see the those files at all on the SD.
Thank you!

Where do you get the music
Can I take a step back? Where do you get music in 5.1 surround format? I listened to the demo DVD that came with me E550 and it sounded great but I assumed that music wasn't published that way. Amazon? Itunes?

For 5.1 music, you need SACD or DVD Audio. Not sure if MB DVD/CD players support these formats. DTS and Dolby Digital support 5.1 but are usually used for movies, but I have seen music in DTS format.

You can search for "lossless music" or "multichannel music" for website that has free download 5.1 channels music. If you like classical music then you will love the 5.1 channels, you will hear different sounds/instruments coming from different speakers at the same.

DVD-A can be played on my Comand...can't speak for other models or model years.I've played hybrid CD-SACDs on it before and I think it only played the CD portion.Maybe I'll try a pure SACD out of curiosity.

I got it from the links provide here. After downloading the music, I just burned it on a CD as Audio Cd. It really sounds clean.

How to burn
Hello
I know this is a very old thread...
I was able to download some .wav and .iso file, but I can't burn them in a way that they'll play in the HK system.
Anyone have pointers? Much appreciated.
Thanks
