Temperature gauge/cooling fan problems

2010 E350 W212 and the temperature guage won't rise at all and the cooling fans come on. If I switch off the engine and switch back on again the temp guage goes up and the fans go off. It's not every time I drive it, just every now and again.

I don't suppose you have a scanner to read the temp sensor data, right? ECU would readily help you with a fault code! 🤞

Then blindly replace cheap sensor with a genuine OEM part. Assume yours may be feeding coolant into harness, inspect.
