Iphone connected via bluetooth but no audio streaming?
I recently purchased an e class coupe with what seems the basic audio system, however it does have bluetooth connection and have managed to get my phone connected for the purpose of making and receiving calls. for what ever reason (maybe not possible) but i can not get my music to play through the bluetooth the only way i am able to play music off my iphone is through the aux cable located in the glovebox :/ if anyone could help would be very much appreciated.
thanks guys

You should have an option under the audio list for it

E Class Coupe
Fist step got into the engineering mode. went to the bottom and clicked on 'ExtPlayer'.
This then came up and went onto bluetooth audio.
This then appeared where i pressed next.
Then this one so i did the same again in the top right hand corner.
And then finally got to this which was set to off so i changed to ON but nothing has changed and no audio through bluetooth
looks like it just cant be done, anyone got a new system for sale they want to sell ha.

Not as simple for me. I was emailed this by my dealer.
"I have just returned from our parts dept after the parts manager has carried out more investigation.
We can get around this issue with work as follows.
We can replace the audio 20 unit which has code no of 523 with an audio 20 code510 [ we will need to recode car and update mb germany with this information]this will then enable us to fit the media interface and in turn update software to stream music.
The cost for this will be in the region of £1735.00 inc.I cant give an exact cost as we have not carried out this on any other cars so cost may be higher."
So we must have different set ups if the above is accurate.
Gutted. A simple software update would of course be my preference over the 2k option!

You have to make sure the music app on the phone is open. It can be on and paused but it had to be on. It will show it is paused in the car if the app is not running.
With the app open go to audio, scroll to BT devices and push the controller to select.
You can scroll through songs by twisting the controller in BT mode but keep in mind you are restricted to the artist, album or playlist selected on your phone while in BT mode. If you want to change it you have to do it on the phone. Please pull over in that situation.
If you connect your phone through the USB connector (old iPhone was standard in my car but I have a dongle to it that gives me lightening connector so my wife's 4S and my 5 are compatible) you can select artist, play list, songs random etc through the controller.

I think we must have different set ups. I have no BT AUdio option unless you are referring to the 'hidden' engineering menu which does contain some reference to BT audio.
Mines a 2012 elcass e250 blu eff coupe.
Audio20
No usb.
Just an aux in arm rest. No standard BT audio options.
Thinking you have a different set up reading you explanation

Researching the web tells me that Audio 20 does not support BT audio streaming, only the phone. Connecting the phone via the USB is the only way I can see it might work. Connect it and then look for media interface under the audio tab.
You can select everything regardless of the phone settings which you cannot do in BT mode.
I had a UK BT specialist link in my earlier reply but I have lost that.

Stuck
Hi Tommy. Sorry I bring this old issue. Sorry if my english is a little rusty too.
I just bought an MB E250 sedan, and I have exactly the same unit, did the same things inside the engineering mode, but didn't solve anything.
Could you please tell me if you managed to solve this somehow?
Regards,
Juan Carlos Rojas

I am using Bovee WMA3000A from viseeousa, it is an A2DP bluetooth adapter and I can answer phone call while playing my favorite song from my phone library and Pandora wirelessly and it automatically connects to my phone whenever I enter the car, etc...Hope this would help.

Hello, I have the 2010' E550 coupe and I have the same problem with Audio streaming on bluetooth. My iPhone doesn't conect it, the others phones I didn't checked. Under Audio I have a option Bluetooth Audio, but it doesn't connect with my iPhone, handsfree on bluetooth works fine. Here is the video:
Anybody have idea, how to fix it? On engineering mode bluetooth audio is activated (on).
