-It had 10-way adjustable front seats.

-It had a driving computer in the center console to tell you all sorts of info. Had average and instant fuel mileage, average speed, trip etc.

- It had 100% hydraulic brake system. By far the best of any ABS system I have driven including the two MB cars I have had. It did not use engine vacuum for boosting. It had hydraulic pump that charged a hydraulic accumulator that operated the brakes.

-It even had the automatic High / Low beam switch that changed lights based on traffic. This was a small plastic box mounted right under the rear view mirror and you could also adjust the sensitivity of it too.

-It had the trunk pull down motor, i.e. you would not slam the trunk lid. You would just gently push it to the hook that then pulled it closed.

-It had cornering lights.

The cat was very heavy and gave a real nice ride yet firm enough for our speeds. And it gave me 24 MPG on highway with the old 5.0 L Ford V8! And this car was built almost 30 years ago now.

For those that don't know this car it is the same that James Bond drove in the movie filmed in New Orleans area. Don't remember the name of the movie now...

If they would build those again I would buy one.
I forgot about the trip computer...

It would be interesting what a 2014 version of that car would be like..

That is about what mine was like. A mid engine Go-Cart with the engine behind you so loud you couldn't have a conversation with the passenger. It is the one and only car I have every made money on. I bought it for $250 and sold it 6 months later for $300!

Previous: 2011 E550 4MATIC Current: 2018 AMG C 43 Coupe, 2021 GLC 300
1971 Chevrolet Vega (RIP, you horror of a car, but perfect for a 16 year old, taught me how to pop start a car)
1974 Dodge Dart (wrecked, my fault)
1973 Chevy Malibu (sold to buddy)
1983 Chevy Celebrity (company car)
1984 Celebrity (part deux, wrecked, yes, my fault)
1986 Nissan 200SX (painful lesson: points/wrecks with company car...they follow you)
1990 Honda Prelude Si (first new car, first to 200K)
1999 Nissan Altima (second new car...and last new car)
2000 Nissan Maxima (had the 5 speed, another 200K)
1998 Corvette (bought 2004, still own, 130K. Amazing track car. When one GF said I loved it more than her, she was not prepared to hear it affirmed. End of relationship.)
2007 Hyundai Sonata (given to teenager, who swan dove it into a ditch, only body work required. Fantastic car, should get him though college)
2008 BMW 328i (CPO no one wanted b/c it was 6 speed. GF at the time hissed 'you're getting another Hyundai?' Enter BMW and exit GF. I win.)
2011 E550 (First car costing over 25K)

Good thread...here goes
-'69 Mustang Grande (@ 16 yrs old)
-'96 Pathfinder
-'84 Trans Am
-'95 s10 SS
-'99 Camaro z28
-'97 GMC Sonoma 4x4
-'00 Dakota R/T
-'06 Titan (shared with wifey)
-'94 Camaro z28
-'02 Maxima
-'05 E55 (current)
-'10 E350 (current, shared with wifey)

The only 2 I wish I could get back are the Mustang and the '99 Camaro. Mustang because it was just one of those cars that you own your whole life, just wished we crossed paths at a time where I had the money to fix it up, and the Camaro because it was 1 of only a handful built that year painted in Hugger Orange w/ a 6 speed and t -tops.
