W213 - 2016 E class
have seen some "spy" pics of the possible 2016. Some look much improved over current model. Best I have seen show the two large grilles on either side of front bumper cover to be much reduced. IMO this is an improvement as it is more proportional.

It looks very much like the new C Class.

Its going to look like the C class because its the pre production W213 chassis wearing a C class body.

What I have read says less storage space and less headroom, but that was in an April Automobile magazine. May still be playing with the final design and features, but I bet it will be costly compared to current "E" Class.
BTW, the article mentioned a 2% take rate on the V8 version. Guess that would the E550 and not the AMG version that will surely follow.

The W213 E will be a 4 cylinder car - the straight 6 E400 replaces the E550. Whether that 4 cylinder entry level E sells, we shall see, personally I don't think buyers in this segment want a 4 cylinder car.

Interesting. Does that mean the wheelbase will have the same proportions as the C class? If its for the E coupe, then I get it, but for the sedan, it doesn't seem right.

Is it just me or are all of the MB models slowly (or too quickly) morphing into a single design mold, losing each of their individualness? Don't mean to hijack the post, but everyone used to be able to see the differences a mile away and now, unless you're a MB Fan ... they're looking the same. Disappointing.

While you can geet the traditional MB grille on the"E" and "C," probably have to special order them. Even then, it is smaller than it used to be.
The Sept. 2014 issue of Motor Trend features their new car capsule descriptions which feature pictures of each car model. This shows the MB trend pretty well. Of course, other makes are doing the same thing, e.g. Lexus spindle grille, Mazda big hole in front, Audi's grilles, etc.
Another reason why I plan to keep my 2010 "E" for a long time-with the traditional grille and four headlights.

Thats no new E class. Cant believe Autoevolution and posters on here cant tell what the car is.
The front bumper is the new AMG style bumper and you can see it has double exhausts on each side as is normally fitted on AMG cars.
it is the W205 C class AMG testing at the ring.
