Distronic Plus vs. Collision Prevention Assist
I have a 2014 E250 with Driver Assistance Package. When I select the "DriveAssist" menu in the speedometer window, "Distance Warning" is not listed as a line item, so there is no way to toggle it on or off. With Distronic Plus ON, active cruise and lane keeping work, and it detects cars, etc. and brakes accordingly. With Distronic Plus OFF, there doesn't seem to be any Collision Prevention Assist. The Red Triangle in the left Gauge assembly is present and is tested along with all the other warning and information lights when the ignition is switched on, but when driving, it NEVER comes on to indicate a danger of a collision.
My window sticker lists, under Standard Features, "Collision Prevention Assist", and the owners manual shows that the "Distance Warning" option should be available under the "DriveAssist" menu. If any of you with the Driver Assistance Package could confirm that they have or don't have "Distance Warning" available, I'd appreciate it.

Same here on my 2014 E250. Comes on far to late to be comfortable to "test" to see how well it works. I will leave that to youtube/test reviewers. I may try to see what the speed difference is with the lane assist on so I have a rough idea of the speeds. Unless I know the cars in front are starting to accelerate from a slow down I usually take over - even with say 30mph speed differences normal distronic plus seems slow to react comfortably - say if the traffic slowed down further.

If either of you guys have the Driver Assistance Package, can you check your DriveAssist menu in the speedometer window and tell me if you have a "Distance Warning" line item?
I just got a call back from MB and they said it should still be there and that I should be able to toggle it on and off, and that I should bring it to the dealer to check software version, etc. I am 120 miles from the closest dealer and would rather learn as much as possible before going that route.

I didn't have a distance warning line. I do have a separate option for the presafe brakes, steering assist and distronic + with lane. Not sure if one of those is what the dealer meant.

MBWorld Fanatic!
In my 2010 model the options for frontal collision are with the radar ON/OFF and the pre safe break ON/OFF. I also have blind spot warning enabled / disabled.
One "stupid" thing in my car is that if I turn the radar OFF I don't have any kind of cruise control. I would have thought that selecting radar OFF would make cruise work as in cars without Distronic but no, with radar OFF no cruise at all.

The manual is obviously completely wrong. Very disappointing as it was one of the main reasons I purchased the car.
