I don't get why mercedes does the same thing as audi. It looks really silly with only one side DRL on when signaling

It's so other drivers can see the turn signal more clearly; because it's easier to see the flashing light if it's on a dark background than if it's on a well-lit one.

I just tried my W212 in the dark, while parked and my DRL on both sides stay on while the turn signal is on either side. Something is wrong with my toy or yours?Any expert can advise which is what suppose to happen? Thanks.
