I haven't seen this color on the road yet. Not that many Benz's around here anyway. Indigo blue metallic certainly has blue in it. However, in certain lighting you can see tinges of indigo; very subtle, but it's there. I can see it only in bright sunlight at certain angles. When the sun is setting, it is easier to spot (see the last photo). I worked at getting the right color balance in these shots and they should look accurate on calibrated monitors.
The gray MB-Tex is good for this type of blue. The burled walnut gives it some warmth. Very happy with the combination.
Still getting used to the driver assistance packages. Also have Parking Assist w/surround camera, Keyless Go, split seats, comfort box, lighting package, and heated steering wheel.
We're heading for a trip to the Southwest in a week. Want to put some good miles on this car. Our first MB, and hopefully not our last!

Gray MB-Tex interior w/burled walnut

You can see the indigo when the setting sunlight hits the car at this angle.

I like it, its very "elegant" looking in that color combo.

I'm assuming the luxury E class comes with 17's? I'm new to MB...

Congratulations. Looks very good. I have same interior on my 2010 "E" and still think it looks great. Only downside is the carpet mats may tend to get dirty over time, but stand up well to cleaning. Could replace them with a custom set from Auto Anything or similar in a medium gray. That's my plan when mine show too much dirt.
I think the blue is great color and it tends to diminish the oversized lower plastic inserts on the front bumper.

Thanks for the comments. I love this site for the great suggestions, and I will look into the medium gray mats.

The chrome accents stand out nicely with that color combination. I like the interior color combination, but I have kids and can't handle keeping a light interior clean.

Good observation. I didn't take this into consideration when I bought, but you are right. There is a lot 'going on down in front' on this car. Silver, white, and gray would accentuate the inserts in the front bumper. For some that may be good. For me, it wasn't a big factor.

Thanks for posting these pictures. I haven't seen this color in person. My last two cars have been Lunar Blue and I was thinking about this color for the next one. I think I'll have to give it a try.

Interesting, this must be an updated version of the color, because on the pre-facelifted models it looked much different (use to be a light blue).

I believe your color is called "Covelline Blue" in South Africa and Europe.

The photo is a different color entirely. This color seems to change with the lighting. The photos show that. I did use a polarizing filter to cut down some reflections, but this is a deeper blue, but not as deep (or as blue) as the lunar blue that is offered. Thanks for the info.

I haven't seen lunar blue either. I was surprised that the dealer couldn't show me any paint chip samples prior to purchase. There is an indigo blue luxury model featured in the 2014 E series brochure. I bought it on faith and based on the few photos I found here and around the web.

Funny, but the car that got me into the MB fold was an E350 that was dolomite brown (I think), that passed me on I-80 in Indiana. That was a fine-looking vehicle, but I just couldn't get the spouse interested in that color.

This is a stunning color - I finally got to see it in person and your photos represent the color well on my monitor. In person, the metallic flakes are much more apparent and lend a shimmery appearance to the color. I really like it and it shifts a lot. I would definitely be happy with this color for a long term car and my humble opinion is that it is timeless and will not date. Congrats on your car and enjoy!

The days of Fall are approaching and the angle of the sun is working its magic on this car's exterior. I was washing it the other day, and as the shade changed to sunlight, I saw the full spectrum of colors of indigo blue. You are right, it does shift a lot. My photos captured it when the sun was nearly overhead. In the morning or late afternoon, the indigo shimmers with the blue. All I can say is that the paint appears to be opalescent, since sunlight will interact with metal flake and create subtle shades of blue, silver, and indigo. Still amazed and pleased as I view my car and approach it on the street or parking lot. Thanks for your comments!
